Shook is an underground independently produced British music magazine, based in London, which covers various forms of black music and electronic music.
The magazine covers the current black music scene in both the UK and around the rest of the world.

It is published in the UK and distributed for sale across the whole country, much of Europe, and also metropolitan areas of the US and beyond. It is currently being published quarterly, however the actual amount of issues can fluctuate year on year, and it doesn't have a regular release date, so regular purchasers of the magazine often have to keep an eye out for its release.[1] Currently covermount CDs or tapes have not been included with the magazine, although with a subscription, a free compilation or artist album is often included as a bonus with the first edition the subscriber receives.
Shook magazine does not have a set slogan, but it basically covers Jazz music at the center, with other black music's from around the world—especially soulfull electronic music—forming the core of its focus. While some of the magazine contains charts from eminent DJ's on the scene or articles on underground music scenes around the world, it also had an eye on contemporary artwork, and underground fashionable trends in and outside various music communities usually not generally well-known about outside of the worlds' big urban centres (London, Paris, Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, et al).
The magazine is sometimes compared with both the US magazine publication Wax Poetics which has been around many years, and also to the —perhaps even more comparable— now defunct, British magazine Straight No Chaser, in which there are clear design and content parallels.
Initially the magazine offered the first three editions for both physical sale, but also for free digital distribution as dual-page pdf's. This has not continued however.
No digital versions (pdf, ePub, or similar, format) of the magazine are currently being published, and there have so far been no plans to issue them as such.
